Event technology scale-up HeadBox has expanded its team following client wins, growth during the pandemic and a recent £2m investment.
The company’s key hires include ex-EY meetings and events leader EMEA, Gemma Bassett as client services director. While at EY, Bassett directed meetings management programmes for over 20 years and also worked with HeadBox as a client.
The hires will join HeadBox’s customer, commercial, product, marketing and operations teams as the company focuses on global expansion. Despite challenges faced during the pandemic, the company has doubled in size over the past three months to 60 people.
Bassett meanwhile will head up the HeadBox Client Services, Account Management and Event Management teams in the UK.
HeadBox said the larger team will help it meet the growing demand of meeting and events professionals using its software products – Lead Feed and HeadBox Business – as well as support for its expanding customer base.
HeadBox CEO and founder Andrew Needham said Bassett’s role will help its clients implement event management programmes using the company’s HeadBox business software.
Following the recent wins of four multi-year contracts from FTSE 100 companies in the media, professional services and FMCG sectors, Needham said Bassett’s experience will prove “invaluable” when helping clients implement similar programmes using its software.
Bassett said: “HeadBox is expertly positioned in the market to transform the meetings and events industry. I’m delighted to work with a passionate, talented team and join a company with innovative solutions for addressing the needs of a rapidly changing sector.”
