Zoom will roll-out a new platform dedicated to events this summer as the video meetings app looks to future-proof its business by targeting the virtual conference and consumer events market.
Zoom Events will allow planners to produce ticketed live events of any size, while combining the functions of the company’s meetings, chat and video webinar services.
Organisers will be able to customise ticketing and registration and control access and billing from one platform. Zoom Events will also provide analytics on elements such as registration, attendance and revenue.
“We know that people are looking for flexibility in how they attend events in the future,” Oded Gal, chief product officer at Zoom, said. “The hybrid model is here to stay, and Zoom Events is a perfect solution for our customers who are looking to produce and host customer, company, and public events with an easy, yet powerful solution.”
Last month, Zoom unveiled plans to launch a £72 million fund to invest in productivity apps as it looks to help other technologies integrate more easily into its platform.
The fund is aimed at firms with products in the early stages of market development that complement Zoom’s focus on virtual meetings.
